SERVICE WORK IN THE MELT SHOP
DSTEEL has huge experience in Europe and CIS countries in service work performed in the melt shops. The job is mainly focused on the cost reduction and improvement of MS technology. As it was shown several times on the reference plants, usually it is possible to increase MS productivity by 10-20% and to reduce MS transition cost by the 5-15% without investment into equipment. It is possible mainly by correct calculation of the heat balance in the real conditions, with consequent implementation of correct practice (Coke, Lime, FeSi, FeSiMn...) as far as adjustment of EAF melting profiles (electrical and chemical). The other step is better managing of all the refractories. And the general step is to find the most effective way of operation and logistics between EAF-LF-CCM. DSTEEL is always ready to do service and to share its experience.

SERVICE WORK IN THE ROLLING MILL
DSTEEL did several service works in the rolling mills (RM) of Europe and CIS countries. The target of service usually is to increase productivity with higher rolling speeds (if it is possible) and reduction of delays during hot hours, also reducing maintenance time. According to our experience a good RM is working around 85% of hot hours, but it can be also down to 40-45%. Such low index is not always related to bad condition of equipment, reasons can be different. Apart of this, reduction of maintenance cost is also possible by correct organization of RM maintenance. A good RM always has a stock with minimal and maximal level of correctly classified spare parts, a system of applications to order new ones, and history for each part. There is also strong need to monitor all materials consumed by RM (electricity, gas, oil) and to check systematically the "bottle necks" of the RM. Another aspect is that the different shifts not always manage the RM in the same way. We are ready to try to find better operational practice for you.
